This or That Book Tag

This or ThatI wasn’t tagged by anyone but I thought it was interesting so I decided to do it! This tag is originally made by Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks 🙂

Reading on the couch or reading on the bed?

On the couch. I always, with no fail, fall asleep when I try to do anything on my bed so I stopped trying haha. I also can’t study or do anything that is required any concentration there. It’s cool though! It’s the only place I can relax and fall asleep almost instantly.

Main Character: Male or Female?

I don’t have a preference although I tend to read more books with female main characters. I have to diversify more! Any good books with bad ass male characters you recommend?

Sweet or Salty snacks while reading?

I don’t eat while reading! I can’t concentrate enough of the book when snacking so I refrain from doing it. Plus, I don’t like dirty fingers touching my books lol. I will however drink tea because tea is life ❤

Trilogies or Quartets?

Both? It’s not the book format that I’m into but the quality of the story and if the succeeding books is needed that I care more of. If I could read more books about a story though I prefer that!

First Person or Third Person POV?

First person. I feel more empathy with the story that way unless the author is particularly good at telling the story from a third person point of view then I’m in! I like to feel like the main character of the book sooo, yeah.

Night or Morning reader?

Night for sure. Although I can do a bit of reading during daytime as well if I’m particularly bored or if I don’t have anything else to do. I treat reading as an activity to wind down and relax so my brain is automatically triggered to feel all tired and sleepy when I start reading so I refrain from doing it in the mornings for the most part.

Libraries or bookstores?

IF I had to choose? Libraries because I can go ahead and read/borrow any book that catches my attention 🙂 If I had the money though, definitely the bookstore. At the end of the day, I love both places because they are filled with wonderful worlds in tomes ❤

Books that make you laugh or books that make you cry?

If I’m feeling pretty stressed, I prefer books that will make me cry. Crying can be such a cathartic thing and it always leaves me refreshed and less stressed/anxious. It also clears my skin for some reason haha. I also love books that make me laugh of course but so far I haven’t found anything that really did that to me 😦

Black or white book covers?

Black. I always thought it looked better having color contrasted against a black background. OR just plain black also works haha.

Character driven or plot driven stories?

Character driven. Before, I used to prefer plot driven stories but I realize now that it irks me more than anything when the plot progresses but the character has no growth whatsoever because it’s such a frustrating thing to read. It mostly leads to scenes that could have been prevented or could have been cut out of the story line if the main character could have some more maturity out of the things that has happened to them. Anyway, I still enjoy plot driven stories, just not my first pick.

So there’s that! This was a fun tag to do, definitely helped me get out a little bit of my blogging slump 🙂

Do you prefer your libraries more or bookshops?

Lots of love,

This tag seems like so much fun! I totally agree with you about character-driven stories–I feel like they’re more realistic and enjoyable to read since they make the story flow more naturally. Also, well-developed characters are a must for me to really love any series, and that usually comes when the characters are the ones driving the plot.
